“Studentengrillen”

Around 40 students came together on Saturday, 15 December at the MGS to celebrate the last event of the year, the student’s barbecue (“Studentengrillen”). Although it was raining, we had a good time getting to know each other. There were students from almost every class as well as from Osram and Infineon and it was fun to see them get together over some popular German food.

We had Bratwurst served with Sauerkraut and mashed potatoes, but, thanks to Ingolf’s Kneipe we were also able to offer a tasty curry sauce with the sausage and some fries to give us an almost authentic German “Currywurst” experience. Everybody enjoyed the food judging by how fast the sausages disappeared from the griddle.

Then everybody joined in a hearty birthday song for our teacher, Nicole Hammerschmidt, and some thoughtful students had brought a cake for her to share. After the candle was blown and the cake had vanished, most of the students stayed to watch the German movie “Kokowääh” together in the upstairs hall. All in all it was a wonderful evening and our students seem to have liked it very much.
