Welcome to the MGS
Founded in 1962 as a friendship society and a language centre here in Penang, we strive for mutual understanding between Malaysians and Germans. We are not only a German language centre but also well known for our cultural activities such as exhibitions, movie nights and talks. In addition, we host many social events for members and friends throughout the year including our yearly Oktoberfest celebration which draws huge crowds from Penang and far beyond!

Oktoberfest 2025 Recap
The much awaited MGS Oktoberfest is finally back! Get ready to celebrate one of the biggest German cultural festivals and enjoy authentic Bavarian music from our live Bavarian band “Die Frankenräuber, lots of dancing, games, tasty food, and drinks.

- Decide on which day you want to visit our festival. Your ticket will not be valid on the other day.
- 30th-Oct onwards, all tickets at MYR 50 via MGS office / Ticket2U
- Ticket holders must present their tickets upon entry for verification.
- Children under 16 free entrance
- Children have to be accompanied by a parent/guardian
