New interactive whiteboards for the MGS

In the last weeks of 2012, since apparently there were funds left, we were offered 2 full sets of “SMART boards” by Goethe-Institut Malaysia. They were installed in both our classrooms in the beginning of January and have been used for our German language classes since the start of this semester. The students have welcomed the new technology enthusiastically and though not every piece of new technology proves to be an asset for teaching, these interactive whiteboards have shown their potential after a few days of using them and it is amazing what the teachers can do with it in class even with a yet very limited expertise after an initial tech training. But we expect that to improve soon, as teachers get more experienced and Goethe-Institut will, in the near future, hold a special teacher’s training for integrating interactive whiteboards into German language classes. We are sure that, having this modern teaching equipment, our language classes will become more popular and successful.
