Christmas Bazar 2011
Saturday, 10 December, 05.00 PM
Our 2011 Christmas Bazar was a great success again. Thanks a lot to Inge Viermann for organizing the event and to all the volunteer helpers without whom we would not have been able to hold it.
We celebrated with coffee and delicious cakes made by German ladies and we served sausages, potato salad, Sauerkraut and – not to forget – the typical German Christmas drink: Glühwein.
Festive musical entertainment was provided by members of the Uplands String Ensemble and some junior musicians. The IWA choir even sang a few German Christmas songs, supported by people of the German community. Christmas stories in German and English were told by our teachers Julia and Jutta.
This year, Santa Claus/der Weihnachtsmann had a stunning arrival in a vintage car and a quiver full of children followed him to the first floor where he gave them little goody bags with gingerbread men, mandarin oranges and nuts.
